For the lifetime of a machine

Gravity die casting parts are ideal for use in machine building and systems design, because their outstanding properties ensure economical operation and high durability. By varying the alloying elements in a targeted manner and using excellent casting technology, the desired mechanical properties for nearly any requirements profile can be achieved.

The strength values for some copper-aluminum alloys, as well as copper-zinc alloys (special brass) match or even exceed the level of typical steels.
Even at temperatures of up to about 300 °C these properties remain largely intact. In comparison with many casting materials, the nearly constant toughness of copper-aluminum alloys and copper-zinc alloys at low temperatures down to -200 °C have proven to be particularly advantageous. In addition, they have good sliding, bearing, and dry-running characteristics.
